Princess Zoe

So on my vacation I discovered Zoe is terrified of dark spaces. All of the rides at Universal Studios requires you be herded into a small dark space until its your turn to board the ride. The terror of the dark space was immediately evident so after a few days of simply walking around and riding very little we headed to Downtown Disney. Now Zoe is not a girly-girl by any means; she loves dinosaurs and playing in the dirt. She was thrilled to see the full size lego dinosaur but when we went into the Disney super store there they had the Bippity Boppity Boutique in the back and she was captivated. We watched in awe as little girls were transformed into princess’ before our eyes.

My tom-boy gal was completely enthused at the concept. We stepped over to the pink phone to make our reservation. It was so cute, when you pick up the phone the fairy god mother makes your appointment. Due to the crowd we had to come back the next day. She talked about it all night and the moment she awoke it was “is it time to become a princess?”

I pride myself on being a mom who encourages my daughter to be an independent strong woman (yes, I know shes only three but still), and I try to instill the values that a person’s outside is not the sum of their character. With that being said I was shocked at how swept up I became. The dresses and nails and hair extensions and glitter galore, it was so intoxicating. Though I doubt it will be a repeat thing it was an experience that I will treasure forever. Check out the pictures of my Princess, she was thrilled by the event but is back to her pigtails and bib over-alls happily rolling around on the floor playing.

This is one of the princess statues out front of the store, she had to pose with both Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella of course.

She definitely has her mom’s crazy head of hair

Somehow they managed to get her hair into a ponytail

Here she is about to get her first set of hair extensions, crazy huh?

Here was a picture with Zoe’s personal Fairy God Mother who made her into a princess. She was really great and managed to get my daughter, barely three years old to open up and talk to her not to mention sit still long enough to pamper her.

Here Zoe is (with a little Mommy help) signing the princess book

Zoe couldn’t help but smile when all the people on the street were greeting her “Hello Princess”
