Even Co-owners deserve props!
So my sister is co-owner of Pivot gallery and boutique.  She has been working mega hard at getting the gallery up and running but she did manage to finish some new paintings for the opening and I am so proud to have them in the shop.  Tammy is a great artist and I hope soon many people give her the credit she deserves by purchasing her work on her etsy shop.

Soopajdelux is Super
Jenna Colby, aka Soopajdelux is a self taught artist who has always been creative through different mediums, but decided to focus on painting three years ago. Originally from Ohio, Jenna has traveled and lived in both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, but has called Seattle home since 1999.  She is a great addition to the Pivot.

Catch Up Time
The store once again has consumed most of my time, well that and being a mommy.  I am finally caught up on emails and am taking a moment to do a few posts about the super fabulous people who will be a part of our opening.  Liz Corbett is a great artist with amazing detail in her work that features an erie alegance to it.  I am in love with her work.

Dark Vomit
We have been awaiting the delivery of Dark Vomit’s work with great anticipation.  I can’t get enough of those chattering teeth but the chicken eat Colonel Sanders head might be finding a place in my home.  I am trying to have some restraint.

Pivot Shop Update
So we have been hard at work getting Pivot ready for the opening and its looking like its all been worth while.  Last night we hung a small fraction of the artwork and its already shaping up nicely.  We have people stop and look in the windows while we work or even knock on the door to ask us whats going on.  The feedback has all been awesome!  Most of the items for the shelves are still in...

We'll Give You the Shirt Off Our Backs
So what would an artisan boutique be without some quirky shirts.  Luckily we got some great ones with our new fabulous consigners, Clothmoth.  One of my favorite called “Needs Salt” is pictured below.

Pivot updates
I have been working so much on the store I have fallen behind again so now you get lots of posts in a row while I play some catch up.  Chainchainchained is the newest jeweler to join the Pivot team.  She gives a unique new take to jewelry in our shop with a fun novelty feel.

However I love thee
So whats a boutique of handmade goods without hand bags?  Nothing I say.  We ordered some bags that have a super unique design and we are excited to bring them to our patrons.  We found However on etsy and were immediately enamored with their unique designs.

Nervous System
So one of the most highly anticipated artisans we will have at Pivot is Nervous Systems.  Everyone we have shown says they want one so it may be another we see sell out opening night.  I know I want several pieces as does my sister.

Obsoleteworld
So when I decided to start Pivot gallery with my sister I wanted to wait until the shop was no longer operating in the red before I began purchasing items for myself.  One artist is making me already rethink that!  This week I got in some prints from Jeannie Paske or better known as Obsoleteworld and I have already been picturing the perfect place in my home for them.  I have a feeling her work...

Gemmafactrix
Another individual consigning with our shop is the lovely and talented Brooke Medlin or some know her as gemmafactrix.  We will be carrying a couple of her earing designs as well as a cople ring designs.  I love that her rings come in a wide variety of sizes.  I hate when rings are available in only five or sixes.

First Featured Artist
So the first featured artist I want to review is someone who’s work I have seen in person.  I saw Jamie’s work of Noosed Kitty when we both had booths at Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn, NY last year.  Her stuff is super fun and whimsical.  I suggest everyone check her shop out.  We are excited to present three prints and one original of hers in our shop!

Pivot Gallery and Boutique
So its official!  My sister and I are opening a Brick and Mortar shop and though the stress is high the excitement is even higher!  I have been selling my work for years at boutiques across the nation and have toyed with the idea of opening one myself.  My sister and I began discussing the idea and decided to take a stroll in MainStrasse village of Covington, KY.  By chance we walked by a shop...
